EMDR Conference in Valencia

It was no different at the 2022 Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Europe conference in Valencia, which ended in a huge success with 1822 participants from 81 countries in attendance. The congress consists of a gathering of European national associations, promoting excellence and integrity in EMDR therapy practice, research, and education. 

The 2022 conference, featuring the theme "EMDR and Resilience", brought together EMDR therapists and specialists from around the world for workshops, valuable keynotes, and roundtable discussions.  

Our congress team is proud to have been the official Professional Congress Organiser for EMDR Europe's annual conferences since 2019. And in 2022, we were determined to exceed expectations even further and surpass the high success recorded by the events from the previous years.   

After the virtual conference formula in 2021, in which we had over 1900 online participants, the following year allowed us to challenge ourselves forward by organizing the annual meeting in a hybrid format that would make everyone feel that could integrate perfectly in-person and online attendees.  

To achieve this, for online attendees we provided real-time broadcasting and on-demand videos, which drew more participation to the annual meeting. With the live broadcasts for multiple sessions occurring at the same time in 4 parallel conference rooms. Additionally, we provided a dedicated mobile app that kept everyone involved in all the congress activities, from live Q&A to various gamifications. The app also empowered them to connect directly with each other, network, and share their experiences on the dedicated social media channel. 

Technology was undoubtedly the backbone of the success of this hybrid conference and our team's vast knowledge and years of experience allowed us to integrate simultaneous translation into 7 languages for both online and onsite participants. We also managed to optimize the budget significantly by managing the translation remotely, which eliminated the need to cover the travel costs of 14 translators who could work from their offices. 

To top it all off, we organized a tour of Valencia and a gala dinner at the Palau de les Arts for over 320 participants. 

At our core, we are dedicated to making the EMDR Conference a landmark event for all therapists in the field. We believe that building and nurturing a trustful relationship is crucial to achieving this goal and growing together.  

And looking to the future, we are already excited to welcome participants to the 2023 edition in Bologna!
