Delivering Hybrid Excellence for EMDR Europe
A strong example of this approach was the 2022 Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Europe Conference in Valencia. The event welcomed 1,822 participants from 81 countries, bringing together European national associations committed to excellence and integrity in EMDR therapy practice, research and education.
Under the theme “EMDR and Resilience”, the congress offered workshops, keynote sessions and roundtable discussions for therapists and specialists from around the world. Having served as the official Professional Congress Organiser for EMDR Europe’s annual conferences since 2019, our team built on previous editions to deliver a dynamic hybrid experience.
A Venue Designed for Large-Scale Scientific Exchange
The congress was hosted at the Valencia Conference Centre, a modern and versatile venue well suited to international scientific meetings. With multiple auditoriums, flexible breakout spaces and integrated technical infrastructure, the venue enabled the smooth delivery of parallel sessions and hybrid broadcasting requirements.
Its contemporary facilities, combined with efficient delegate flow and strong on-site support services, ensured that both in-person and online participants experienced a well-coordinated and professional event environment, supported by our expertise in professional congress organisation and hybrid event delivery.
Why Valencia is a Leading Congress Destination
Valencia continues to strengthen its position on the European congress map. The city offers excellent international connectivity, a strong hospitality infrastructure and a vibrant cultural setting that enhances the overall delegate experience.
With its compact layout, sustainable mobility initiatives and Mediterranean climate, Valencia provides an attractive and accessible environment for international gatherings. The combination of modern congress facilities, competitive accommodation options and a rich social programme makes it a compelling choice for associations seeking both efficiency and impact.
Integrating In-Person and Online Participation
Following a fully virtual edition in 2021 with more than 1,900 online participants, the 2022 congress adopted a hybrid format that successfully integrated in-person and remote attendance. Online participants benefited from real-time streaming and on-demand content, with multiple sessions broadcast simultaneously across four parallel conference rooms.
A dedicated mobile app supported engagement across both audiences, enabling live Q&A sessions, interactive features and networking opportunities. Participants were able to connect directly, exchange insights and remain actively involved throughout the event.
Technology-Driven Multilingual Access
Technology played a central role in the delivery of the congress. Simultaneous interpretation was provided in seven languages for both on-site and online participants. By managing translation services remotely, we optimised the event budget while maintaining high-quality multilingual access.
Enhancing the Delegate Experience
Beyond the scientific programme, we curated a social experience that reflected the host destination, including a city tour of Valencia and a gala dinner at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía for more than 320 participants.
A Long-Term Partnership Built on Trust
Our continued collaboration with EMDR Europe reflects a long-term partnership built on trust, transparency and shared ambition. Each edition builds on the last - strengthening engagement, expanding reach and reinforcing the congress as a landmark event within the field.
Looking Ahead
As hybrid and international formats continue to evolve, we remain focused on combining technology, operational expertise and strategic planning to help associations expand participation and elevate the delegate experience.
